Homework #2 (.mw) and Answer Key (.mw)
Homework #3 (.mw) and Answer Key (.mw)
Homework #4 (.mw) and Answer Key (.mw)
12/05 Tests 1,2,3 and their answer keys are now posted:
Old Exams Posted Here
11/27 Homework #4 (.mw) is due Wednesday, December 5th by 4:30pm.
[The following problem was to be problem #4 on the Maple homework
before I decided it that would make the 4th assignment too long.
On the other hand, it was too interesting to throw it away. So
here it is...] Surface Centroid (.mw) example.
11/26 I just uploaded all of the grades (on asULearn) that I have so far.
Please make sure everything looks right.
We have had 6 quizzes. I plan to give 2 more quizzes (one tomorrow
and one next Tuesday). I will then drop your 2 lowest quiz scores.
So if you like your scores so far, the pressure is off. If however,
you have a score or 2 that you'd like to see disappear, now is your
chance.
The quiz tomorrow will cover line integrals and the fundamental
theorem of line integrals:
Sections 15.3, 15.4 and the supplemental notes.
Also, we have had 3 Maple assignments. I plan to assign one final
Maple homework tomorrow. It will be due Wednesday, Dec. 5 (a week
from Wednesday). I will be dropping the lowest of your 4 Maple homework
grades. So if you have "good" scores on the first 3, you do not have
to turn in the last assignment (the "0" will just be dropped).
Looking forward to the final exam:
I will let everyone have a note card for formulas on the exam. I'll
pass them out soon. And I would like to schedule a review/QA session
before the exam. Please look at your final exam schedules and know what
times you'll be available, so we can pick a time that works for as many
people as possible.
Supplemental Line Integral Notes (.pdf)
11/24 Homework #3 (.mw) and Answer Key (.mw)

Test #3 is Friday. It will cover Chapter 14 (except for 14.5 on
surface area which we haven't covered yet). The test will also
cover 15.1 & 15.2.

Please note in you syllabi that the General Math Lab Hours this fall are:
Mon. & Wed. 2 - 5pm
Tues. & Thurs. 3:30 - 6:30pm
Walker 303A.
***This is a change from last semester, when we experimented with 2-5pm, M-Th.
After talking to a handful of students it seems that the staggered times
generally work better for those who attend most often.
Thanks.
Nathan Weigl
