08/07 I posted the final exam grades and final course averages on AsUlearn. Final letter grades
are posted as comments in the course averages.

If you want to look over your exam, I'll keep them around for at least a year. Also, if you
ever have an questions, mathematical or otherwise, please don't hesitate to send me an email!
I'm happy to help if I can.

Have a great (what's left of the) summer!

07/11 Test #1 is Friday.

Relevant line integral homework from Section 15.3...
      15.3: 1-7(odd), 17, 23, 25

We will talk about center of mass and centroids tomorrow - but don't worry about
      them for the test.

The handout Supplemental Line Integral Notes (.pdf) [Source: (.zip)]
has some useful information on the first page and third pages (some summary
information as well as a centroid example).
This handout also has some extra homework of interest: Problems 1-7 on page 10.

Test #1 (on Wednesday) will cover the parts of sections 10.2-10.3,
11.1-11.5, 12.1-12.5, & 15.3 which we (will have) discussed in class.

Old tests can be found here.

Test #1 from many of the past semesters should give you a pretty
good idea of what to expect. Don't forget to study section 15.3
(that stuff is not covered in most of the older Test #1's).
Also, keep in mind that summer school tests are too long for us.

You can get an idea of what I might ask by looking at...

07/10 Tomorrow's handout...
Supplemental Line Integral Notes (.pdf) [Source: (.zip)]

This handout should be more interesting when we get fully into Chapter 15 much later
in this course. But for now, the first page and third page have some helpful summary
information as well as a centroid example. This handout also has some extra homework
of interest: Problems 1-7 on page 10.

We should start discussing line integrals on tomorrow.
Here is the relevant line integral homework from Section 15.3...

07/09 Maple Examples and Maple Homeworks

06/15 Maple homeworks are posted here. These assignments
will be due on Mondays (July 16, July 23, July 30, and August 6).

06/14 Just posted... syllabus, schedule, and suggested homework pages.
[These are tentative. I may need to make some more changes before the term begins.]

      Free Math Tutorial Center
General Math Lab is held in Walker 309 Monday-Friday 3 to 6 pm. It opens the first day of
      classes for each session.

It is intended for assistance in most 1000-2000 level Math coursework (except Math 1030).
This lab is staffed by math tutors, graduate assistants, and Math Department faculty.

      Greetings!

The math tutor lab will be open the first day of classes, both sessions. We will
be open from 3-6 pm, Mondays - Fridays, in Walker 309. Our tutors can handle
Business Math, all maths from 0010 - Calc 3, Proofs, Real Analysis (I hope; they've
taken it), DE's, Linear and Modern.

Please let me know if you have any concerns or questions.

      Thanks,
          Lisa

We may use "Maple" a few times this session. Maple is a "computer algebra system"
(math software) and is available -- theoretically -- on all campus computers.
Math majors are likely to encounter this software many times as they take courses
in their major. Geology, Physics, and several other majors may run into it again
as well. If you would like to purchase a copy of Maple, you can get it for about
$75 with the discount code: AP97261-A1B1C
