10/15 There was a typo on the original take-home portion of the midterm exam.

      In problem #10 part (a), H should be defined to be all matrices with 
      "a and b not both 0" (otherwise H includes the zero matrix and thus is not
      a subset of GL2).
      
      Also, in part (b), it should be the NON-ZERO complex number (so again
      "x and y not both 0". So they are a group under MULTIPLICATION. Sorry!!!

      Midterm Exam 

10/11 Elizabeth spotted a typo in Fall 2011 Test #2's answer key. It's fixed. At some
      point I observed that D_6 has 7 elements of order 2 (which is true). However, that
      was totally irrelevant since that part of the problem was dealing with D_12!

10/10 Our Midterm Exam is this upcoming Monday. It will be cumulative over the entire
      first half of the semester covering chapters 0-6 (minus Cayley's theorem in Chapter 6).
