News & Announcements

12/07 I just posted final exam grades, final course averages, and letter grades
(as a comment on final course averages) on asULearn. I replaced lowest test
scores with final exam scores (if it helped) and there was a sizable curve
      on the final exam.

I also posted the final and its answer key with the rest of the exams.

If you have any questions, please send me an email. I'll be around most of
      the Christmas break.

If you'd like to look over your exam, I'll keep them in my office for at
      least a year.

I hope you all have a great Christmas! If you ever have any questions -
mathematical or otherwise - please don't hesitate to stop by my office or
email me. I'd love to help if I can!

11/13 Homework #8 (.pdf) is due Friday (Nov. 20th). [Source: (.tex)]

11/02 Test #3 is this Friday. We'll spend most (or all) of class Wednesday
      reviewing for the test.

Test #3 will cover chapters 7-11. This includes cosets, normal subgroups,
quotient groups, homomorphisms, the first isomorphism theorem, direct
products of groups, and the classification of finite abelian groups.

Old tests can be found here.

09/23 Homework #4 (.pdf) is due Wednesday (Sept. 30th). [Source: (.tex)]

09/21 I just passed back Test #1. Please write up corrections (either on blank paper
or on a copy of the exam found here).

      You may work together.

For problem #5, do BOTH options for both parts of the problem (don't just
      choose one).

When you get done with your corrections stack them on top of your original
exam, staple/paper clip them together, and turn them in. Corrections are due
      on Friday.

Some of the corrections will count as homework. I will give you some of your
missed points back as well (well, that's vague -- don't worry I'll make it
      worth your time).

09/11 Test #1 is Wednesday. It will cover Chapters 0, 1, 2, 3, & part of chapter 4.
