Math 2130 (Sections 101 & 102) Homepage
News & Announcements
12/14 A few more answers have been added to the supplemental problems.
Final Grades for Section 101 have been posted on AsULearn.
12/11 A few corrections have been made to the Supplemental problems
(covering Chapter 16 material). Two answers were wrong #37 should be
2/3 pi and #28 should be 90. I added an answer for #15 (it's -32 pi).
12/10 Better late than never, the answer key for Test #3 is posted here.
12/08 Answer Key for Workshop #4.
12/07 I will be holding two review sessions for Calculus III
1) Tuesday December 8 (tomorrow) at 2pm in Walker 105
2) Monday December 14 at 9:30am in Walker 210 --- I know
we agreed on 10am but the room is only available until 11:55am
so I wanted to make sure everyone has a chance to ask questions.
Feel free to arrive at 10am instead of 9:30am if you want.
Both review sessions will last at least an hour. Exactly how long
they last is up to you. Again, with both review sessions, feel free to
arrive late and / or leave early.
Keep in mind, the exam will have
1 -- review problem on "lines and planes" from Test 1 stuff
1 -- review problem on "Lagrange multipliers / Min-Max-Saddle
point" stuff from Test 2
1 -- review problem on "Improper integrals / probability
distribution functions" from Test 3 stuff
and then 5 to 7 problems on Chapter 16 (Vector Calculus) with
a focus on the supplemental problems posted on our webpage.
11/27 Maple Workshop #4 is due Friday, December 4th.
For the 12pm-1pm section only:
We will be meeting in Walker 209B instead of the Mac lab.
UPDATED:
Supplemental problems covering Chapter 16 material.
11/17 Supplemental Vector Calculus Problems
(More to come later -- these cover up through Green's Theorem.)
11/13 The long awaited Supplemental Line Integral Notes (.pdf) [Source: (.zip)]
These notes review what we've been covering in class lately
will a little extra stuff toward the end (the stuff involving
"curl").
I passed back the test today. I would like everyone to redo their
test (correct your test). Please rewrite ALL of the problem
solutions neatly (whether you got the problem right or not) and
turn in the corrections by Friday next week.
Totally correct corrections will get you 1/2 of your missed points
back. So for example, 60 means your missed 40 points so you can get
20 points back. This would give you a new score of 80.
Please feel free to come ask me about corrections. I would be happy
to help you work on them.
For your convenience, here is a copy of the test...
Test #3
NOTE: For those in section 102, rework problem #2 from the
posted test. DO NOT rework the flawed problem #2 from last Friday's
test.

Hello Dr. Cook,
Could you please send out a notice to the class that
we will be meeting in the library lobby at 12:00 pm
on Sunday to study for the Mon. exam? For all late
comers, I will be procuring a room (hopefully on the
third floor), where they should find us. Thanks.
