News & Announcements
05/03 Final grades are posted. Final course averages are posted with your letter grade posted as a comment.
Just because class is over doesn't mean you should be a stranger. Please feel free to stop by my
office or send me an email if you ever have questions mathematical or otherwise. :)
I hope all of the rest of your finals go well and that you have a great summer!!
04/19 Homework #8 [Source: (.tex)] is due Monday, April 29th.
04/05 Test #2 (.pdf) [Source: (.tex)] is due Wednesday, April 17th.
The Rules (same as before): You are to work on your exam alone. Do not discuss these problems
with classmates, faculty, or any other person (except Dr. Cook).
However, you may consult the voices in your head or ask your dog
(if you have a talking dog). You may consult books, notes, and
preexisting internet resources. You may not post questions about
the test online. However, if a question is already answered
somewhere on the vast interwebs, that's fair game. If you
get a solution from somewhere online or in a book, cite your source!

02/21 Test #1 (.pdf) [Source: (.tex)] is due Wednesday, February 27th.
02/20 An Unsimple Discussion [65 mins.]
Here we show that simple groups must (more or less) live inside alternating groups.
As a consequence we get that A5 is the only simple group of order 60.
Also, the commutator subgroup is discussed. Hopefully, we'll finish off group
theory on Friday (discussing the other isomorphism theorems).
Test posted ?soon?
02/12 Homework #4 [Source: (.tex)] is due Friday, February 18th.
